Inspired by Ben Okri’s extraordinary ‘The Aesthete’ column in August 1st FT ‘HTSI’ magazine in which he describes the framed picture of his parents when they were young, my Calendrical Galley this month celebrates family and friends that have kindly allowed me to take their picture! Inspired by my mentor, Bill Brandt, I decided to try my hand at portrait photography around fifteen years ago. Occasionally, I have managed to achieve a certain poignancy, as though revealing something of the character of my subject. So – here’s to LIFE and the very special people who have populated my world (so far)…
